Lab for
Life

A space for exploration, inquiry, and sense-making.

This is where ideas take root through research, collaboration and play.

It’s where I test new assumptions, surface questions, and follow threads that don’t yet have answers. Some experiments grow into offerings. Others stay as seeds.

What connects them all is a belief in working for Life, not over it.
In designing for care, not control.
In creating systems, stories, and tools that restore relationships and expand possibilities for people, organisations, and the more-than-human world.

The Central Inquiry

overlapping lenses

How does aligning human wellbeing with planetary health—through ecological, psychological, and spiritual dimensions—foster a deeper reverence for all forms of Life?

Connecting Wellbeing to the Health of Our Planet

My inquiry examines wellbeing through the interplay of these four frameworks.

This question is what guides my creative practice and decisions about the projects I choose to take on.

It has led to several emergent themes found across my body of work.

9 planetary boundaries

9 planetary boundaries

The nine planetary boundaries define the safe operating limits for humanity with respect to Earth’s critical environmental systems. These boundaries include climate change, biosphere integrity, land-system change, freshwater change, biogeochemical flows, ocean acidification, atmospheric aerosol loading, stratospheric ozone depletion, and novel entities. Staying within these boundaries is essential for maintaining a stable and habitable planet.

human givens

9 human givens

Human Givens is a psychological approach that identifies a set of nine innate needs and resources that all humans share. These include the need for security, emotional connection, autonomy, meaning, and status, among others. Understanding these givens helps in promoting mental health and wellbeing by ensuring that these fundamental needs are met.

9 dimensions of wellbeing

9 dimensions of wellbeing

The nine dimensions of wellbeing encompass a holistic view of human flourishing. These dimensions typically include physical, emotional, social, intellectual, occupational, environmental, financial, spiritual, and creative wellbeing. Addressing each of these areas contributes to a balanced and fulfilling life.

9 spiritual dimensions

9 spiritual dimensions

The nine dimensions of spirituality represent different aspects of consciousness and interaction with the cosmos along the axis of the World Tree. These realms include Earth herself, the physical world we inhabit, love and sensuality, geometric forms and patterns, vibrational resonance, light and knowing, and the the creative source of all; Time. Understanding these fosters a deeper connection to the cosmos and our inner worlds.

How co-labs work

✦ Each Lab is co-designed around a shared purpose.

✦ We’ll agree on a timeframe (typically 6–18 months) and a flexible working rhythm.

✦ Together we’ll explore the roots, map the system, set conditions for change, and build tools that help us (or others) carry the work forward.

Some Labs focus on organisational transformation, others explore systemic shifts. What they share is a commitment to better ways of working, living, and caring for Life.

If your work needs more space to breathe or you need someone to explore and play with…get in touch.
